It is the mission of the Central Polk County Fire Rescue to preserve life and property, promote public safety, and foster economic growth through leadership, management, and actions as an all-risk life safety response provider.

A Message from Fire Chief Ken Witt to our Citizens, Members, and Stakeholders:
Central Polk County Fire and Rescue (CPCFR) protects approximately 3,000 people living in an area of 88.62 square miles. CPCFR is governed by a seven-person Board of Directors elected from the membership at our annual meeting in October and we rely solely on membership dues to fund our operations.
We operate out of two stations that protect residential, recreational, commercial, agricultural areas, and open forest land. Our department is a public department which is made up entirely of volunteers from the community. Our current ISO rating is Class 9, if your property is within 5 miles of one of our fire stations.
CPCFR’s jurisdiction is located in the center of Polk County surrounding most of the corporate limits of the City of Bolivar. We are truly a unique department providing Fire and Rescue service to our residents.
Our Department is 100% volunteer we have currently 17 members and always trying to recruit more. All personnel are trained as firefighters then we have specialty areas to handle the needs of the response area. Currently we have both EMT’s and First Responder trained personnel who are able to respond to medical emergencies. We have five personnel who have been certified as swiftwater rescue technicians, and four personnel trained as Hazardous Materials Technicians.
We have a very diverse area to cover for our services which include portions of Highway 13 and Highway 32, approximately 22 miles of the Pomme de Terre River, Golf Course/Country Club, Commercial property, and several thousand acres of agricultural and forest land.
