Insurance Service Office (ISO) Information

ISO rates all fire departments with a Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) which gives a score of 1 to 10 (1 is best, 10 is worst). Insurance companies use this rating to base property fire insurance rates on. The better the ISO rating, the less risk of a loss due to fire, therefore, a lower fire insurance rate to property owners in the district. Reinspection should be every 15 years or if a fire department requests more often. Three areas are evaluated in an ISO inspection:

Central Polk County Fire Rescue has never been evaluated by ISO to our knowledge. By default, since a fire department exists, ISO has given CPCFR an ISO rating 9.

With the backing of our community through a fire protection tax district, CPCFR has plans to request an ISO inspection to lower insurance rates for our property owners. More information about ISO rates and what that means to property owners can be found in the Tax District Presentation.
